Ashtons Legal continues support of the Akcela Incubator

Akcela Ventures X Ashtons Legal

We are delighted to say that Ashtons Legal has continued its partnership with the Akcela Business Incubator, supporting start-up and scale-up businesses throughout the East of England.

Akcela is an award-winning business incubator and is currently home to over 15 start-up, scale-up or early-stage companies from a variety of industries including EdTech, FMCG, Games Studios, SaaS, Manufacturing, and more.

Ashtons are a leading commercial law firm with offices throughout the East, carrying out work for local and national clients of all sizes. They have particular expertise in advising high-growth emerging businesses in a variety of sectors.

Speaking on behalf of the partnership, Akcela Ventures Founder and Managing Partner, James Adams, heaped praise on the support that Ashtons have offered through the first year of the incubator being in place.

“We are incredibly grateful for the partnership with Ashtons Legal and for the assistance, they have provided us and some of our early-stage companies to date. Many people don’t realise the complexities involved in managing an early-stage company and going through those first agreements and contracts. Whether you are seeking early-stage investment or bootstrapped, you want to get them right.”

“We have had so many engagements with David Sloman and the team and there have been some complex items to navigate. At every step of the journey, we have had the terminology broken down into digestible language, the implications explained, and the path forward outlined. Even with early-stage contracts, or agreements, just having that support on your side from the off, means we can focus on growing the businesses, knowing that the legal side is all in hand.”

David added “It has been a pleasure working with James and the team at Akcela to assist the companies making their way through the incubator. Akcela’s successes so far are testament to the amazing network of support James and the other directors have put in place, of which we are thrilled to be part. We very much look forward to continuing to work with Akcela, helping the latest high-growth companies in the region emerge and scale-up.”

We would once more like to thank Ashtons for their incredible support through our first year and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership in the future.

If you are thinking of starting or scaling your business, whether that is alongside an incubator or not. Feel free to join the region’s start-up and scale-up communities for upcoming events hosted by Akcela.
