Community Update - Early August 2022

Another quick update from the Akcela Incubator and wider community. In what has been another incredible month of happenings and activities.

New Members of the Community

We are delighted to welcome two new members of the community to the Akcela incubator. Welcome to Jack, who joins us as a developer working on a project with a large London-based business. Whilst we cannot go into too much, Jack brings a wealth of experience building scalable SaaS models with AWS frameworks, and offers great insight to other members of the community.

We are also delighted to welcome Kane St Quintin of Visibly, a SaaS-based training platform helping field engineers with access to gamified lifelong learning. The business has already secured a number of prominent partnerships and we look forward to working alongside Kane and him supporting and sharing his wealth of knowledge with the startup community within Akcela.

Newfangled Games Award Wins

The Newfangled team have been at it again, with another award win. This time, it is the Develop:Brighton Indie Showcase award. With their debut game now amassing a huge number of award wins, before launch. TikTok channels smashing fellowship numbers and other stories soon to break, we are grateful to be on the journey with the team.

New Art Within The Community

As our Founder James Adams will often be heard quoting Steve Jobs, we believe that art and technology are an incredible mix.

β€œIt’s in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough β€” it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.”

We are delighted to add new art from Fred Hoffman (Director at Newfangled Games) and soon to add a further piece by Jake Andrew. If you are ever in the area and want to admire them and grab a coffee, come in and say “Hi”.
