Community Update - July 2022

Akcela Community Update 2022 July

It’s been a busy few months here at the Akcela incubator as we welcome new members to the community and continue to work with startup companies towards incubation.

Welcoming New Joiners

We are delighted to welcome some new joiners within the Tech and Design spaces, to the community. It’s great to see so many creative and software focussed companies in Norwich come into the space. As Steve Jobs said:

“Technology alone is not enough. It’s technology married with the liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields the results that makes our hearts sing”

We are truly grateful to have such a great mix within the community, with pre-existing residents such as Newfangled Games and us welcoming mobile game developer Exobyte to the community. We have also welcomed Kintronix LTD., a software development company, Sparkling Peach, a software development company working with blockchain technologies, and also supporting the Norfolk Developer community with a desk too. Akcela is becoming a place where great tech and art talent comes to call home. Welcome to everyone who has joined over the past few months.

We have also welcomed marketing graduate BK to the community, who is working with two of Norfolks prominent software development companies as their marketing representative, welcome BK. As well as the Tech Educators team welcoming their marketing executive Idalia to the community.

Jake Andrew Art On Display

Keeping on the theme of art and technology, local NFT artist Jake Andrew gifted James of the incubator a piece of art for the launch event of, what is now a Polygon Builders’ hub. Jake has worked with TIME and LIFE magazine, was part of a series of events at NFT:NYC and is continuing to gain global recognition as a physical/digital (known as Phygital in the industry) artist. We are delighted to be able to have such a piece of art on display in the incubator.

Community Talks Break for Summer

We are taking a break from our community talks for a short period, as many people are now heading out on their summer breaks. It’s been a great set of talks from our partners and some of Norwich’s finest businesses and business support entities, talking about what it is that makes startup companies succeed. We will be releasing an application process for other members of the community to come and support our community with talks in the near future, so please keep your eyes open for that.

With Thanks to Our Partners

As always, thank you to our partners Farnell ClarkeAshtons Legal,  MAD-HRLuminous PR and TCNUK for your support in making the Akcela Incubator a reality.
